I wasn't able to access LJ at *all* from work today. Grr! Such disappointment.

Last night was good. I camped out at the Craft Center after posting yesterday, and made some new stuff. I made dinner, so I got to improvise a new main course. I'm proud of it! <3 I also spent a bit of time looking at job listings on BrassRing.com last night, because it was where portland-jobs.com pointed to. (yeah, the UO Career Center needs to update their website. :p) So far, it seems that most of the places I saw looking for web devver types want me to move to: a) San Francisco-ish, b) Texas, c) the Deep South.

I don't think I need to tell you how much I am *never* moving to b) or c). No power on this EARTH, I tell you. ;p I officially fear the kind of reception that I'd get from folks in the Deep South, being haafu and all. And Texas probably wouldn't much better, either, as I'm sure [livejournal.com profile] zk8ssaaachyz can attest. It brings to mind that bit from King of the Hill: "So, are you Chinese or Japanese?" "I'm originally from Laos!" "... so, are you Chinese or Japanese?"

San Fran seems not-terrible, though. It'd be cool to be in the same state with one half of my extended family. And San Fran is probably the only part of California that I've really liked at all. Ooo, *AND* I could hang out with [livejournal.com profile] totchiko and meet the fabulous [livejournal.com profile] threeleet! YAY ;_;

Feh, though. I still like the Northwest.

Today at work was quiet. Jremy ordered a cake for [livejournal.com profile] sirbeavis' birthday, and OMFG. Best. Cake. EVAR. It was this crazy lemon poppyseed cake, and it surprised the hell out of me, because I *think* it was a vegan cake. O_o; All the vegan food I've had previously has been like chewing on straw, so a good vegan cake is a feat indeed.

Tonight, I dance like a foo. I think I've figured out what I'm going to wear, too, although I can't decide between short armbands or the long armwarmers. (yes, I made new arm gear yesterday. ::rotfl::) Oh well, I have 4 more hours. ;p

And last: [livejournal.com profile] rellie mentioned this band, and I like it. Yay! :D

San Francisco = HAPPINESS... expensive happiness, though.. which kind of sucks ;_;. and OMG it would fucking ROCK to have you live nearby. ;_; too bad it won't actually happen.. *sniffs* ;_;

Dude, it's entirely possible, actually, especially with my graduation date possibly being moved up. If I can't find jobness in the northwest, then I'd probably have to move down to San Fran/San Jose-ish, closer to all the tech companies and so forth. :)

Heh, my graduation is at least that far off, too. :) I'll hopefully be out in August, and if not, it'll be December-ish.

Dude, fuck San Jose. SF is where it's fuckin' at. Then again, as stated above, it's quite expensive to live here.. and gone are the days when you'll get hired starting at $80k just out of college (not that I'd know, since I've never finished myself, but.. let's just say that I've seen several sets of numbers from various companies that've either leaked out or just been left lying around).. Then again, it seems to be quite popular to live in N/S/E-Bay & commute to the city for work.. Probably costs less than half as much to live out there for twice the space. But then you either have to have a car & be a traffic/parking slave, or take BART & be a schedule slave. At least insofar as it stops running at a certain time, after which you pretty much can't get home.. whereas w/in the city there's at least some owl buses & shit.. or cabs, which are much cheaper -within- the city..

Then again, they're planning on building -more- "low income" housing around the Safeway near here ("low income" meaning <=$40-50k/yr in this city), but who knows when THAT'll be done. The building they just finished in the last year or so was already completely filled up before it was even done, too..
